Void is a narrative photography project based on Singapore's Chinese Street Opera which transform an empty ground into a temporary stage for theatrical performances.
As Singapore constantly evolves into a more technological and metropolitan city, common traditions such as the Chinese Opera are a rare sight, making this century old art form another one of the vanishing trades. The new generation dawns upon convenient electronic devices while the old tries to stay in touch. It is hard to look for someone to take over this culture.

Through this project, I tried to capture the hardwork and effort of the opera troupe lifestyle and how it is slowly dissapearing into oblivion.
